We are proud to implement the United Nations Sustainability Goals at our hotel. This includes measures such as the use of renewable energy, the use of natural and biodegradable cleaning products and the promotion of recycling and paper reduction. We work closely with local suppliers and actively support the environment to do our part for a more sustainable future.

No poverty: The Oeko-Tex certificate of our bed linen and towel supplier also includes labor protection measures, such as the prohibition of child and forced labor and the guarantee of minimum wages. In addition, all textiles have a cotton content of at least 94 % up to 100 %. We try to avoid elastane as much as possible.
No hunger: By using Novell brand organic coffee capsules and eliminating their use of chemical pesticides and herbicides, we contribute to sustainable and environmentally friendly coffee production. Our compostable capsules reduce waste.
Health and well-being: As part of our sustainability strategy, we use products from socially committed companies such as Goldeimer toilet paper and Stop the Water products. These companies offer sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives. Both companies support sustainable projects and are involved in sanitation or donate a portion of sales proceeds to drinking water and water conservation projects.
Quality education: Every booking through our hotel website supports Click a Tree, which are reforestation projects in Ghana, Thailand or Philippines that not only support the environment but also local schools and young students. In this way, we are committed to sustainable development and education. We also supported the Neven Subotic Foundation in 2022 with a donation of €12,000 to build wells in the corporate group.
Gender equality: In addition to our commitment to “equal pay for equal work,” we are also actively committed to gender equality in management positions. We believe that a diverse management team not only reflects a sense of social responsibility, but also contributes to the sustainable development of our company.
Reduce water consumption: We are actively committed to reducing water consumption. Water is used sparingly through the use of class Z aerators in the kitchens, flow limiters in the showers and also by means of low-consumption toilet flushes. Proportionate irrigation of the outdoor area is provided by its own well. In addition, rainwater from the roof of our newer building (K2) is drained into infiltration trenches to conserve groundwater. We prevent soil sealing by using grass grids on our parking lots.
Renewable energies: Our photovoltaic systems on the roof have an output of 57 kWp and thus make a significant contribution to covering our electricity requirements. In addition, we use district heating, which is obtained from waste heat and is equated with renewable energy in accordance with the requirements of the federal subsidy for renewable energy and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).
Decent work and economic growth: We offer our employees the best possible working conditions, also with regard to ergonomics. We also place great value on diversity and inclusion and promote both within our workforce.
Better supply chains: Well thought-out supply chains: Collaboration with local suppliers enables us not only to offer fresh and regional products, but also to reduce CO₂ emissions due to shorter transport distances. Our in-house laundry, which will be operated from the end of 2023, is designed to make logistics more efficient and make a further contribution to protecting our environment.
Fewer inequalities: We are committed to fair pay and equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender, origin or age. Inclusion and diversity are important to us, and we create a working environment in which every individual has the chance to excel. Thanks to a high level of digitalization, we no longer have any language barriers and we already have employees of seven different nationalities at the hotel. Alternative mobility: We promote sustainable mobility with job tickets for our employees and an e-car charging station right on the premises. We use e-cars for business trips and also offer the option of a company bicycle, e-scooter or fuel allowance. In addition, we do not fly as a team in order to make our contribution to climate protection.
Conscious consumption: We offer glass water bottles in the hotel rooms to avoid plastic waste. Our cleaning service uses environmentally friendly cleaning products and we attach great importance to recycling. From Q1 2023, we will start our cooperation with The Sustainable People and use their ecological products.
Saving energy: We have switched to LED lamps for lighting and offer dimmable room lighting. The lighting in the stairwell and hallways is equipped with motion detectors to prevent unnecessary energy waste. In addition, timers control the parking lot lighting. In addition, intelligent controls ensure an optimal room temperature. Our cleaning service is carried out according to your wishes and the towel change program can be adjusted at any time.can be adjusted at any time.
Less chemistry: In an effort to adopt environmentally friendly practices, we rely exclusively on environmentally friendly cleaning agents. This is part of our commitment to reducing chemicals and strengthening sustainability in our operations. We set a goal to use only environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout the hotel by the end of 2023.
On site: We are actively committed to preserving biodiversity. We also create a natural habitat for plants and animals by designing our green spaces. We also pay attention to sustainability when it comes to water by avoiding excessive sealing and instead relying on plenty of natural infiltration area.
Certification: Our GreenSign certification underscores our commitment to sustainability and shows that we are actively working for peace, justice and strong institutions. We ensure that our business practices adhere to ethical and social standards and provide fair working conditions for our employees. In doing so, we also help strengthen local economies and communities.
